RM50k Allocation to Strengthen Education at SK Taba Sait

PADAWAN – Rural education in Sarawak has received a boost with Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Taba Sait securing a special allocation of RM50,000 for 2026.

The funding is intended to enhance learning facilities and resources, creating a more conducive environment for students.

The announcement was made by Sarawak Deputy Minister of Transport (Air and Road), Datuk Dr Jerip Susil, during the SK Taba Sait Session 2025 Excellent Student Appreciation Ceremony on Thursday.

He emphasised that education forms the backbone of Sarawak’s development, particularly as the state prepares for a new economy driven by science and technology.

“I would like to emphasise the importance of mastering Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) with a focus on English, Mathematics and Science as the backbone of the competitiveness of the future generation,” he said.

Dr Jerip highlighted the challenge of student performance in Mathematics, stressing the need for a comprehensive approach involving teachers, schools and parents.

He explained that the RM50,000 allocation, channelled to the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of SK Taba Sait, should be utilised strategically to upgrade facilities, improve learning resources and foster a supportive school environment.

The Mambong State Assemblyman also expressed appreciation to teachers and school administrators for their dedication in educating rural children.

He urged parents to play a more active role in monitoring their children’s learning progress and character development at home, reinforcing the shared responsibility of education.

The ceremony was attended by the Administrative Officer of the Padawan Subdistrict Office, Julius Scott Sapong, alongside other guests.

The event celebrated the achievements of outstanding students while underscoring the importance of collaboration between educators, parents and the community in nurturing future talent.

This allocation reflects Sarawak’s broader commitment to rural education, ensuring that schools in interior areas are not left behind in the state’s development agenda.

By strengthening STEM education and improving facilities, SK Taba Sait aims to produce knowledgeable, competitive students who can contribute to Sarawak’s long-term growth.
