MUKAH – Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine has voiced his full support for the Aspirations of Knowledge Tour Programme spearheaded by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Branch Mukah Campus, describing it as a meaningful initiative to boost student potential in the district.
The programme, launched earlier this week at SMK Three Rivers Mukah, continued at SMK St Patrick on Wednesday, where Royston attended to show his backing.
The event, which will conclude at SMK Mukah, is a joint effort between UiTM Mukah, the Mukah Education Bureau, and the Tellian State Assembly Service Centre.
With the themes “Say It Right: Public Speaking for Future Leaders” and “MATHgic Calculator Mode: ON”, the initiative is designed to enhance students’ communication skills while strengthening their understanding of mathematics.
UiTM Mukah lecturers themselves are leading the sessions, ensuring participants receive practical insights from higher-education experts.
Royston, speaking during his visit, said such initiatives are vital in empowering local youths. “This is a high-impact programme that develops knowledge and skills essential for the future.
The cooperation between educational institutions and the community is crucial in preparing a generation ready to face global challenges,” he noted.
The programme reflects UiTM Mukah’s commitment to broadening educational outreach in rural Sarawak, aligning with broader national goals of improving academic performance and equipping students with essential life skills.
