MIRI – Riam Road Secondary School (RRSS) celebrated the achievements of its outstanding students at the SPM and A-Level Incentive Award Presentation Ceremony, held at Shin Yang Hall on Sunday.
A total of 38 SPM 2024 students and two A-Level students were recognised for their academic excellence, with incentives amounting to RM16,500 distributed during the event.
The ceremony highlighted the school’s commitment to nurturing excellence and rewarding perseverance. Among the SPM achievers, eight students secured 5A, another eight achieved 6A, eight obtained 7A, three recorded 8A, six earned 9A, four achieved 10A, and one student distinguished themselves with an exceptional 11A result.
In addition, two pre-university students from RRSS TVET, who attained a perfect CGPA of 4.00, were also honoured with incentives in recognition of their remarkable performance.
Sarawak Transport Minister and Senadin State Assemblyman, Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, officiated the ceremony and commended the students for their dedication.
He reaffirmed the Sarawak Government’s commitment to strengthening the education ecosystem, emphasising the importance of producing competitive human capital to meet future demands.
“The government remains focused on supporting initiatives that encourage academic excellence and prepare students to contribute meaningfully to Sarawak’s development,” he said.
The incentive programme reflects RRSS’s ongoing efforts to cultivate a knowledgeable and capable generation.
By recognising achievements at both secondary and pre-university levels, the school continues to inspire students to strive for excellence while reinforcing the value of education in shaping Sarawak’s future.
The event concluded with the presentation of awards to the recipients, marking another milestone in RRSS’s mission to uphold high educational standards and foster a culture of achievement.
