Organised by the Sibu Division Islamic Festival Standing Committee and supported by the Islamic Welfare Association of JKR Sibu Division (PKIJ), the event drew thousands of visitors from different backgrounds, creating a lively atmosphere of unity during Ramadan.

The closing ceremony was officiated by Sayed Azmee Wan Junaidi. In his speech, he thanked the many agencies, volunteers, and organisers who worked together to ensure the nationwide programme ran smoothly.

Visitors enjoyed a range of cultural and religious activities throughout the evening. Among the highlights were the distribution of breaking fast meals and donations from government agencies, as well as performances featuring Nasyid and Qasidah.

Traditional competitions such as the gun cannon contest and the Menetir Beduk competition also drew strong participation, while a traditional clothing showcase added colour to the event.

The Lan Berambeh Sungkei ceremony served as the main highlight of Sibu Division’s participation in the tour. Hundreds of attendees gathered to share the breaking of fast together, reflecting the strong sense of community that defines the holy month.

Organisers said the programme provided both information and entertainment while strengthening social ties. The gathering reflected the values associated with Ramadan unity, compassion, and respect among communities.

The RTM Ramadan Tour, which travelled across several states, concluded its journey in Sibu this year. The programme left a lasting impression on participants and highlighted the role of cultural and religious events in strengthening harmony across Sarawak.

Following the successful finale, the organisers hope similar programs will continue in the future, building on the spirit of togetherness and appreciation for Ramadan throughout the country.
