SABATI Concludes Ramadan Tadarus with Khatam Al-Quran

SABATI Concludes Ramadan Tadarus with Khatam Al-Quran

KUCHING, March 12 — The spirit of Ramadan was strongly felt at Surau SABATI here today as Puan Dayang Norjihan binti Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari joined members of SABATI in a meaningful Khatam Al-Quran ceremony.

The programme marked the closing of the Tadarus Al-Quran session held from March 9 to March 12 in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadan. The religious gathering brought together members in a united effort to complete the recitation of the Al-Quran as part of their annual spiritual activities.

The event took place at Surau SABATI in Kuching and was officiated by Dato Dayang Morliah Awang Daud. In her remarks, she emphasised the importance of strengthening ukhuwah, or brotherhood, among members through collective religious programmes, especially during Ramadan. She noted that such activities not only deepen spiritual understanding but also reinforce unity and commitment to charitable work within the organisation.

A total of 15 participants took part in the Khatam Al-Quran ceremony. They were divided into five groups, with each group guided by an appointed facilitator to ensure the recitation was conducted in an orderly and proper manner. The structured approach reflected the seriousness and respect given to the sacred text, in line with long-standing Islamic traditions.

Among those present were Datin Sri Sharifah Ehsan, Dato Baduyah Bujang and other SABATI members, who actively participated in the recitation. The atmosphere throughout the programme was calm and solemn, reflecting the significance of completing the Al-Quran during Ramadan, a practice highly encouraged in Islam.
