SARATOK – A motorist’s stressful afternoon was resolved efficiently on 31 March 2026, after the Saratok District Civil Defence Force (APM) intervened in a vehicle lockout incident.
The emergency, which occurred at Simpang Sungai Ruan, highlighted the diverse range of community assistance services provided by the agency beyond traditional disaster response.
The situation began when a member of the public contacted the Saratok APM operations centre to report that their car keys had been accidentally left inside a locked vehicle.
Stranded at the junction, the driver sought professional help to regain access to the car without causing expensive structural damage to the doors or windows.
A specialised team from the Saratok District APM was promptly sent to the scene. Upon arrival, the personnel assessed the vehicle’s locking mechanism and prepared the necessary tools to perform a non-destructive entry.
Using specialised technical equipment, the officers managed to manipulate the internal locking system, successfully popping the door open within a short timeframe.
Officials confirmed that the entire operation was conducted with precision, ensuring that no damage was sustained by the vehicle’s paintwork or window seals.
