This year, the Sarawak delegation will participate in nine categories: orienteering, darts, lawn bowling, volleyball, 3-on-3 basketball, esports, VIP bowling, VIP golf, and karaoke.
A flag-handover ceremony was held ahead of departure, led by Dohadi Marzuki, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Development, who presented the Sarawak flag on behalf of the ministry’s Permanent Secretary.
The flag was received by Khairuni Zammosidi, Deputy Director-General of the Sarawak Sports Council, symbolising the state’s official entry into the competition.
According to organisers, this year’s Games have attracted 808 participants in total, comprising 586 athletes and 222 officials.
Teams from 15 councils are represented, including the National Sports Council and the National Sports Institute, with only Kedah absent from the line-up.
