This visit forms part of the Governor’s official programme in the capital, where he is scheduled to participate in several iftar ceremonies. Among the highlights is the Majlis Berbuka Puasa Anak Sarawak, organised by Yayasan Sarawak, which will take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 28 February. The event is expected to bring together Sarawakians residing in the capital for a communal breaking of fast.

Earlier this month, the Governor and his family were also seen visiting The Exchange TRX in Kuala Lumpur, where they attended to personal matters, including replacing electronic devices that had encountered technical issues.

During his arrival, Tun Pehin Sri expressed his hopes that all scheduled programmes would proceed smoothly. He prayed that the journey and events would be blessed, noting the importance of Ramadan as a time for reflection, unity, and community spirit.

The Governor’s presence in Kuala Lumpur underscores Sarawak’s close ties with its diaspora in the capital. Events such as the upcoming iftar are not only religious observances but also opportunities to strengthen bonds between Sarawakians living outside the state and their leadership.

Officials from Yayasan Sarawak, including director Datuk Mohamad Junaidi Mohidin, had earlier extended the invitation during a courtesy call at the Governor’s residence in Kuching. The delegation emphasised the significance of the Kuala Lumpur event, which will serve as a platform for Sarawakians to connect and celebrate the holy month together.

The Governor’s itinerary reflects a balance between official duties and personal engagements, highlighting his commitment to maintaining strong connections with Sarawak’s communities across Malaysia. His visit is expected to continue over the coming days, with further Ramadan-related activities scheduled in the capital.
