MECCA – The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, performed the Maghrib and Isyak prayers in congregation at the Grand Mosque (Masjid al-Haram) on Tuesday evening.
Arriving at the mosque at 7.00 pm local time, the couple was accompanied by Sarawak’s Minister of Tourism, Creative Industries and Performing Arts, YB Dato Sri Haji Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, along with his wife Datin Sri Hajah Zuraini binti Abdul Jabbar.
Members of the official entourage also joined the prayers, marking a significant spiritual moment during their pilgrimage.
The visit to the Grand Mosque forms part of the governor’s journey to the Holy Land for the Hajj season. The opportunity was used to strengthen devotion and increase acts of worship ahead of the peak of the pilgrimage.
