KUCHING – The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, paid a visit to their Senior Private Secretary, Dato’ Sri Haji Syed Hamzah bin Syed Paie, who was admitted to Normah Medical Specialist Centre on Tuesday morning.
The Governor and his wife arrived at the hospital accompanied by their daughter, Sharifah Fariah, and several senior officers from Astana Sarawak. They were received by Mr. Bidari Mohamad Suhaili, Deputy Head of Corporate Affairs and Business Development, representing the hospital’s management.
Dato’ Sri Syed Hamzah, who was joined by his wife Datin Sri Nur Nadia, had undergone medical checks and was confirmed to be suffering from a spinal muscle injury. The Governor and Toh Puan offered prayers for his swift recovery and expressed hopes that he would be relieved of his discomfort soon.
The visit coincided with the Governor and Toh Puan’s wedding anniversary, which was marked with a surprise gesture by Dato’ Sri Syed Hamzah and Astana officers.
A bouquet of flowers and an anniversary cake were presented to the couple as a token of appreciation. The occasion was further commemorated with a prayer led by Alfadhil Ustaz Haji Syed Mohd Rusydi bin Haji Wan Yusup, Religious and Research Officer at the Office of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak.
The Governor and his wife expressed gratitude for the thoughtful celebration, noting the significance of the gesture during a hospital visit. They also extended prayers for Dato’ Sri Syed Hamzah’s continued protection, rest, and recovery, emphasising their hope that he would regain his health and return to his duties in due course.
Normah Medical Specialist Centre, located in Kuching, is one of Sarawak’s leading private healthcare facilities, known for its specialist services and community-focused care.
