LUNDU – Sarawak Governor Tun Pehin Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Hajjah Fauziah Mohd Sanusi attended a wedding ceremony at the Kampung Rambungan Community Hall in Lundu on 19 September.
The couple were guests at the wedding of Cik Nur Iwani Izzati binti Raya Kechil, daughter of Councillor Raya Kechil and Puan Rena binti Naan, and Encik Rais Fadhlee bin Ismailee.
Tun Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan were welcomed by the bride’s parents and family members when they arrived at the community hall. The reception included a hadrah performance as relatives and guests gathered to mark the occasion.
The ceremony brought together family members, community representatives, government officials and invited guests for the wedding celebration in Kampung Rambungan.
Among those attending were Azizul Annuar bin Pehin Sri Adenan Satem, the Member of the Sarawak Legislative Assembly for Tanjong Datu, and Abang Abdul Aziz bin Datuk Dr Abang Draup, Political Secretary to the Premier of Sarawak.
Senior government officials, community leaders, relatives and other invited guests were also present at the event.
As part of the ceremony, Tun Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan took part in the customary sprinkling of rose water over the newlyweds as they sat on the bridal dais.
The gesture formed part of the wedding proceedings and conveyed blessings and good wishes for the couple’s married life.
The attendance of the Governor and Toh Puan also provided an opportunity for them to meet relatives and guests attending the celebration. Toh Puan spent time mingling with those present after the main ceremony while refreshments were served.
The wedding was held in a community setting in Lundu, with the presence of local leaders and government representatives adding to the gathering of family members and invited guests.
Before leaving the venue, Tun Wan Junaidi and Toh Puan conveyed their congratulations to Nur Iwani Izzati and Rais Fadhlee on their marriage.
They also expressed their hopes and prayers for the couple to have a marriage marked by grace, blessings and lasting happiness.
The ceremony brought together personal and community ties, with the presence of the state’s Governor reflecting the occasion’s significance to the family and those gathered at the Kampung Rambungan Community Hall.
The wedding of Nur Iwani Izzati and Rais Fadhlee was subsequently marked by congratulations from family members, community representatives and other guests who attended the event in Lundu.
