KUCHING – The Governor of Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, received a formal courtesy visit from YTM Tunku Besar Tampin, Tunku Syed Razman ibni Almarhum Tunku Syed Idrus Al-Qadri, and his consort, YM Che Puan Isteri Anis binti Sobari at the Sarawak State Palace on 9 April.
The delegation arrived at midday, accompanied by Encik Syed Ahmad bin Syed Mohamad and Encik Syed Abdullah bin Syed Mohamad.
The meeting was conducted in a cordial atmosphere, providing an opportunity for both sides to exchange views on current matters and strengthen ties of friendship.
During the discussion, Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi highlighted Sarawak’s historical legacy, tracing its lineage back to the era of Rajah James Brooke, the first White Rajah of Sarawak.
He emphasised the importance of preserving the state’s heritage and family traditions as part of its cultural identity.
The visit concluded with a luncheon hosted at the palace, which further reinforced the spirit of goodwill between the two families.
Both parties expressed appreciation for the occasion, noting the significance of such engagements in fostering unity and mutual respect.
In his remarks, Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi conveyed gratitude to Tunku Besar Tampin and his wife for their presence, stressing the value of maintaining strong bonds of friendship and brotherhood.
He expressed hope that the relationship between Sarawak and Negeri Sembilan’s royal household would continue to flourish in the years ahead.
