KUALA LUMPUR – Sarawak has reinforced its presence in the global halal market through its participation in the 21st Malaysia International Halal Exhibition (MIHAS 2025), held from September 17–20 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
The event, officiated by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, featured over 2,400 exhibition booths and attracted exhibitors and buyers from 80 countries.
A delegation of 10 Sarawakian entrepreneurs showcased locally produced food, beverages, and cosmetics at the state pavilion. This initiative aimed to expand international market access and foster new business connections for Sarawak’s halal-certified products.
The hybrid format of MIHAS 2025 combined physical exhibitions with virtual platforms, allowing exhibitors to present their offerings through interactive digital booths and multimedia microsites.
Organized by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Halal Development Corporation Berhad (HDC), and the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM), this year’s edition emphasized innovation and sustainability as key drivers of halal economic growth.
Sarawak’s involvement aligns with broader efforts to position the state as a competitive player in the global halal industry, leveraging its unique products and commitment to quality standards.
