PUTRAJAYA, MALAYSIA: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg recently attended the National Energy Council (MTN) Meeting held at Perdana Putra’s Office in Putrajaya on Thursday.

The meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, focused on national energy strategies and policies to ensure a sustainable and secure energy future for Malaysia. The Ministry of Economy serves as the secretariat for the council, tasked with coordinating the country’s energy sector and managing its development.

Key figures present at the meeting included Deputy Prime Minister YAB Dato’ Sri Haji Fadillah bin Haji Yusof, who also holds the portfolio of Minister of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA). He was joined by YB Senator Datuk Seri Utama Tengku Zafrul Bin Tengku Abdul Aziz, Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry; and YB Datuk Seri Mohd Rafizi Bin Ramli, Minister of Economy.

High-ranking officials from various ministries and related agencies were also in attendance to discuss and streamline energy policies for Malaysia’s transition towards green energy and sustainable practices.

Sarawak Premier’s participation highlights the state’s significant role in supporting Malaysia’s goal of a sustainable energy future.
