This programme forms a key part of the state’s broader strategy to implement welfare schemes that directly assist targeted groups.

Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah, the Minister of Women, Children and Community Well-being, stated that the government is dedicated to ensuring no segment of the population is left behind in the state’s development.

She said the SCHB not only demonstrates governmental concern for public wellbeing but also underscores a determination to prevent the marginalisation of any community.

The minister was officiating at an engagement session for the SCHB and other services run by the Sarawak Social Welfare Department (JKMS) in Daro District on Tuesday.

She emphasised that direct feedback from the public, gathered through such sessions, is vital for refining the execution of welfare programmes at a grassroots level.

Meanwhile, Daro State Assemblyman, Dr. Safiee Ahmad, voiced his gratitude to the ministry and JKMS for their persistent work.

He acknowledged the effort to ensure all societal levels, particularly the elderly, receive suitable aid.

Dr. Safiee noted that the assistance provided by the government through the welfare department does more than just alleviate the financial strain on recipients. It also plays a significant role in enhancing their overall quality of life.

He added that these efforts are a clear reflection of the administration’s dedication to the people’s welfare, especially in rural localities such as Daro.

The event at the Daro Community Hall also featured a comprehensive briefing on the various services administered by the JKMS.

This briefing covered a wide range of topics, including different forms of welfare assistance, child protection measures, support for persons with disabilities, and other community wellbeing initiatives.

It is anticipated that programmes of this nature will reinforce the collaborative network between government agencies, community leaders, and local residents.

The ultimate goal is to ensure the continued protection and enhancement of the social welfare for all citizens in Sarawak.
