Sarawak Dominates Blowpipe Competition With Full Gold Haul

Sarawak Dominates Blowpipe Competition With Full Gold Haul

KUCHING – The host contingent delivered a commanding performance in the traditional blowpipe event at the Borneo Games Kuching 2025, securing a complete sweep of all five gold medals available.

The finals were staged at Field D of the Negeri Stadium, solidifying Sarawak’s reputation as a dominant force in the sport.

Team captain Lahan Suhaili attributed the decisive victory to an intensive preparation regime. He emphasised that success in blowpipe requires mastery overprecise physical control and mental fortitude.

The competition against a skilled East Kalimantan team was noted as particularly challenging.

Lahan explained that the discipline demands excellent control of arm strength and breathing techniques, where consistent practice is paramount.

He also voiced strong support for the event’s continued inclusion in future games, hoping it remains a permanent fixture.

The home team maintained notable composure throughout the contest, performing effectively in front of a supportive local audience.

This clean sweep provides a significant morale boost for Team Sarawak as the multi-sport games continue.

The result underscores the region’s prowess in traditional Bornean sports, celebrating cultural heritage alongside athletic excellence.
