KAPIT (June 11) – The Public Works Department (JKR) has announced the closure of a section of Jalan Selirik, stretching from the JKR store to Lorong Pantau, until June 23. This measure is necessary to carry out extensive repair works following a recent landslide that compromised the road surface.

<strong>Alternative Routes Advised</strong>

JKR engineer Jawa Gara has advised road users to utilize an alternative route via Jalan Kapit Bypass-Jalan Hill Top-Jalan Puan Sri Tiong-Jalan Selirik during this period. He emphasized the importance of cooperation from the public to facilitate the urgent repair work.

<strong>Construction of Protective Wall</strong>

In addition to repairing the road, the contractor will construct a concrete retention wall on the hill slope to prevent future landslides. This protective measure aims to ensure the long-term stability and safety of the road.
