APM Selangau Holds Monthly Training for Emergency Readiness

SELANGAU – The Selangau District unit of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force, known as APM, held its monthly training session on Sunday, 22 February 2026, at the Selangau PKOD headquarters.

The programme ran from 8.00am to 5.00pm and drew 35 officers and members. The focus was clear: sharpen readiness and improve how the team responds during emergencies.

The day began with a foot parade, followed by a thorough inspection of ambulance equipment. Members reviewed medical tools in detail and took part in hands-on simulations to practise proper usage. Group training sessions were also carried out to strengthen coordination and teamwork within the unit.

Both classroom briefings and field exercises were included, giving participants a balance of theory and practical experience. Trainers stressed discipline, swift action, and integrity as core values in civil defence work.

The session proceeded without incident. The structured format gave members room to practise essential skills while building confidence in handling real-life situations.

Officials said monthly training remains key to maintaining operational standards. In a district such as Selangau, where communities depend on fast response during floods, accidents, and other emergencies, consistent preparation makes a difference.

Organisers also praised the strong sense of teamwork shown throughout the day. The cooperation and commitment displayed during exercises reflected the unit’s cohesion.

Across Sarawak, the Civil Defence Force continues to support communities in times of need. Through regular training, the organisation reinforces its motto, “Ready to Quickly with Integrity”, ensuring every member stands prepared when duty calls.
