SERIAN – A total of 101 students from the Serian parliamentary constituency have received financial incentives to support their studies at public and international higher education institutions.
The awards were distributed during the Rural Development Small Project (MRP), Special Gifts, and Student Education Incentive Ceremony Series 3/2025 held at Leort Cottage in Kampung Pichin.
Additionally, 53 Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), associations, and community groups received MRP grants, bringing the total disbursement to RM463,950.
Serian Member of Parliament Dato Sri Dr. Richard Riot Jaem commended the recipients for their academic achievements and encouraged them to excel further. He emphasized the importance of education in fostering community pride and national contribution.
The incentives aim to alleviate financial burdens for students pursuing tertiary education, while the MRP grants support local development initiatives, including infrastructure upgrades, welfare programs, and community activities.
The event underscores ongoing efforts to bolster education and rural development in Serian, aligning with broader state objectives to reduce urban-rural disparities and promote socioeconomic resilience.
