SIBU – The Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (Bomba) successfully carried out a special service operation in Sibu Jaya on Wednesday, 6 May 2026, after receiving a distress call regarding a woman trapped inside a locked toilet.
The incident occurred at Sublot 26, Jalan Sibu Jaya, prompting the Bravo Team from the Sibu Jaya Fire and Rescue Station to respond swiftly.
The operation was led by PBK I Terrance anak Jimbun, who was accompanied by PBK II Shaufik, PBB Syakirin, and PBB Syamsu.
The team travelled approximately two kilometres to the site using a Mitsubishi Triton utility vehicle. Upon arrival, the firefighters conducted an immediate assessment of the situation.
They discovered that an adult woman had accidentally locked herself inside the toilet and was unable to exit.
Recognising the urgency, the operation commander instructed the team to don full protective gear before commencing the rescue.
Using specialised equipment, including a Paratech tool, the team carefully dismantled the locked door to gain access.
The operation was executed with precision to ensure the safety of the individual involved. Once the door was opened, the woman was safely freed without injury.
The rescue highlighted the department’s commitment to providing fast, effective, and friendly service to the community.
The operation was completed smoothly, and the situation was declared under control before the team returned to base.
