Bands from Sibu, Kuching, Kapit, Kanowit, and Sibu Jaya battled for a share of the RM8,500 prize pool, delivering performances that reflected the region’s musical diversity and youthful artistry. The audience was treated to a dynamic showcase, with each group bringing its own style and flair to the stage.

At the end of the night, Sempurai Gundai from Kapit was crowned champion, taking home RM5,000. Chromatic Octave from Sibu secured first runner-up with RM2,500, while Kuching’s Silent Killer claimed second runner-up, winning RM1,000. The competition was judged by industry professionals, including Jumbull Murdock and Patrick Bin Kamis, ensuring a fair and high-standard evaluation.

Organisers said the strong turnout from both performers and the public demonstrates Sibu Jaya’s rising reputation as a hub for live music and cultural creativity. The event also aims to boost community-based tourism experiences and highlight Sarawak’s attractions in the lead-up to VM2026.
