Sibu Mosque Hosts Ramadan Spiritual Talk for Local Community

SIBU – A spiritual talk under the Bicara Rohani Hal Ehwal Islam programme brought members of the Muslim community together in Sibu on 6 March 2026. The event formed part of the Dhiya’ Ramadan 1447H / 2026 initiative organised by the Sarawak Department of Islamic Religion.

The session took place at Al-Qadim Mosque shortly before the Maghrib prayer and drew around 100 participants from the local community and mosque congregation.

Wan Adzman bin Wan Abdul Rahman delivered the talk, focusing on the theme “The True Meaning of Ramadan.” He reminded attendees about the deeper purpose of the holy month, highlighting spiritual discipline, gratitude, and compassion as core values nurtured during Ramadan.

Organisers described the programme as part of broader efforts to strengthen community engagement during the fasting month. Religious talks, gatherings, and educational sessions encourage reflection while bringing communities closer together.

Participants said the session offered meaningful reminders about observing Ramadan with sincerity and devotion. The gathering also reinforced the role of mosques as centres for learning, spiritual growth, and community connection.

Programmes such as Bicara Rohani Hal Ehwal Islam remain an important outreach effort led by the Sarawak Department of Islamic Religion. These initiatives provide space for Muslims to exchange knowledge and reflect on their faith throughout the year.

As Ramadan continues, more activities under the Dhiya’ Ramadan programme will take place across Sarawak. The goal remains clear: strengthen unity, deepen understanding of Islamic teachings, and keep the spirit of reflection and compassion alive within the community.
