Six Arrested Within 12 Hours After Padawan Fatal Shooting

Padawan, 26 April 2025 — In a swift and professional operation, Padawan police successfully resolved a fatal shooting case within just 12 hours. Six suspects, aged between 26 and 45, were arrested at various locations around the district between 4.00 pm and 5.30 pm today.

The shocking incident happened early this morning at around 5.30 am, where a victim was found shot dead inside a vehicle. Responding quickly, police teams launched an intensive investigation that led to the prompt arrests.

During the operation, officers also seized a car, a pistol, and 10 bullets believed to be connected to the crime.

Padawan District Police Chief, Supt. Mohd Irwan Hafiz bin Md Radzi, confirmed the arrests and the seizure of evidence. He stated that preliminary investigations found that the group was involved in the fatal incident. However, the exact motive behind the shooting is still under investigation.

“All six suspects have been remanded to assist in the investigation. Thanks to the quick action and cooperation of all teams involved, this case was resolved within less than 12 hours,” he said.

The investigation falls under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which covers murder. Authorities are continuing to gather evidence and take statements to fully piece together the circumstances leading to the tragic event.
