DEBAK – Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK Dit) is set to benefit from improved facilities with the proposed construction of a roofed hall, aimed at providing greater comfort for students and supporting the organisation of school activities.
Sarawak Deputy Minister of Community Wellbeing Development, Datuk Mohammad Razi Sitam, said enhancing physical infrastructure at SK Dit is a priority, with the roofed hall project designed to create a more conducive learning environment.
He noted that Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Zohari Tun Openg has approved allocations to assist schools across the state in upgrading educational infrastructure.
“Sarawak Premier has given permission to assist schools throughout Sarawak through state government allocations for the development of educational infrastructure,” he said during the SK Dit Level Khatam al-Quran Ceremony on Monday.
Datuk Razi also revealed that another application has been submitted for a new school site, intended to meet SK Dit’s long-term needs and further improve the quality of learning and the school environment.
At the same ceremony, he emphasised the importance of Quranic education, including KAFA classes, in shaping disciplined and virtuous students. He expressed hope that children would not only learn to read the Quran but also understand its interpretation to strengthen their appreciation of religion in daily life.
He urged parents to support school programmes and ensure children are exposed to religious knowledge from an early age, highlighting the role of family involvement in nurturing well-rounded students.
The proposed roofed hall project reflects Sarawak’s broader commitment to improving educational facilities, particularly in rural areas, ensuring schools are equipped to deliver both academic and religious education effectively.
