SRI AMAN – Firefighters from Balai Bomba dan Penyelamat (BBP) Sri Aman extinguished about two acres of a continuing fire at Ladang Tabarok on Monday, 10 August 2026, as the operation entered its third day.
The fire incident was located at Ladang Tabarok, about 17 kilometres from the fire station, at coordinates 1.254984, 111.383070.
According to the operational report, firefighters arriving at the location found fire still affecting more than three acres of remaining area from the previous day’s incident.
The operation was led by PBK I (TBK I) Noor Faqriakmal, who was serving as the operations commander on the third day of the response.
Senior officers present at the location included PPgB Shaibullah and PBK I (TBK I) Freddy Anak John. Firefighters conducted the operation while equipped with complete personal protective equipment.
The team deployed a 100-foot hose line, a divider branch and a 400-foot hose arrangement with two nozzles to support firefighting efforts.
A water source was located about one kilometre from the fire site, with machinery repeatedly drawing open water from the surrounding area to supply the operation.
The lack of a nearby fire hydrant was identified as one of the main challenges faced by firefighters at the location.
The operational report stated that there was no fire hydrant available at the incident site. As a result, firefighters had to rely on a water source located approximately one kilometre away from the fire area.
The report also identified low rainfall coverage as another difficulty during the firefighting operation. Despite these challenges, firefighters managed to extinguish approximately two acres of the affected area during the day’s operation.
Smoke was still detected in parts of the central section of the site after the main firefighting effort. Firefighters continued to address these areas to reduce the possibility of the fire becoming active again.
A firebreak was also created as part of the operation to help prevent the remaining fire from spreading to other areas.
The firefighting team continued monitoring the location while working to ensure that the remaining affected areas did not pose a further threat.
The operation followed an initial report of the incident received at 7.50pm on 8 August 2026. The incident was recorded as a fire incident at Ladang Tabarok.
The operational information indicates that the firefighting response continued over several days as firefighters dealt with remaining areas affected by the fire.
