Stutong Market Ramadan Bazaar to Open from March 2-30, Vendor Applications Now Open

Stutong Market Ramadan Bazaar to Open from March 2-30, Vendor Applications Now Open

KUCHING, Jan 10 – The much-anticipated Stutong Market Ramadan Bazaar will be held from March 2 to 30, 2025, in the Stutong Community Market parking lot, marking a highlight for the city’s Ramadan festivities. This annual event, organized by the Kuching South City Council (MBKS), invites local vendors to showcase their culinary delights and products to the public during the holy month of Ramadan.

MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng made the exciting announcement today, inviting interested vendors to submit their applications starting from Monday, January 13, until the deadline of January 24 at 4:00 PM. Vendors can pick up application forms at Counter 9 of the MBKS One-Stop Service Centre, which is located at the MBKS building on Jalan Padungan.

To ensure smooth processing, applicants are required to provide several documents with their application, including a passport-sized photo, a copy of their IC, proof of attending a food handler’s course, a valid medical checkup report, and a typhoid vaccination certificate (at the vendor’s own cost). Married couples applying for a stall are also required to submit a copy of their marriage certificate to avoid duplicate applications for permits.

The permit fee for each stall is set at RM250, with a refundable security deposit of RM100, in line with previous years’ practices. A total of 160 stalls will be available, offering a variety of food and beverages. Of these, 60 stalls will feature cooked food, 54 stalls will offer cakes, 24 will serve drinks, and 22 will be designated for BBQs.

A briefing session will be held on February 24 at the MBKS Auditorium, where a balloting process will take place to fairly allocate the stalls. This will ensure that all vendors have an equal opportunity to secure their spot for this popular event.

For those interested in becoming a part of the Stutong Market Ramadan Bazaar, now is the time to apply and be part of one of Kuching’s most anticipated events of the year!
