KUCHING – The Sungai Bintangor Bridge is poised to become a key driver in improving traffic flow and connectivity in Kuching as Sarawak prepares for the bridge’s official inauguration on 5 August.
Deputy Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, visited the site today to inspect final preparations and rehearsals for the event, which will be officiated by the Premier of Sarawak, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg.
Costing RM50.67 million, the bridge is classified as one of Sarawak’s high-impact urban infrastructure projects, fully funded by the state government.
“This bridge project reflects the Sarawak Government’s commitment to strengthening the urban mobility network in line with the broader development agenda for Kuching,” said Uggah.
The project was implemented by Global Eco BBR Joint Venture Sdn. Bhd., with Engineer TCS Sdn. Bhd. and JKR Kuching Division overseeing the design and technical supervision.
Uggah expressed satisfaction with the readiness of contractors and relevant agencies, ensuring a smooth launch ceremony.
He was accompanied at the rehearsal by several key figures, including:

The Sungai Bintangor Bridge is expected to enhance inter-district accessibility, support economic growth, and improve quality of life for residents in and around Kuching.
