KOTA SAMARAHAN – A fire involving a Renault car was successfully controlled in Taman Samarindah, Jalan Datuk Mohammad Musa, on Wednesday, 6 May 2026. The incident occurred at No. 29, Lorong 28G, where the vehicle was parked in front of a residence.
The Operations Centre received an emergency call at 4.55 pm, prompting the mobilisation of machinery from the Kota Samarahan Fire and Rescue Station, located approximately 12 kilometres away.
The first team arrived at 5.08 pm and discovered that the blaze had engulfed the engine compartment, causing complete destruction in that section of the vehicle. Minor burn marks were also observed in the parking area.
The extinguishing operation was led by Operations Commander PBK II (TBK I) Nasaruddin Bin Budin, with TPgB II (TBK I) Christian Olas, head of the Kota Samarahan Fire and Rescue Station, serving as the senior officer on site. Six personnel were deployed, supported by one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT).
Firefighters acted swiftly, using a single auxiliary flow from the engine pump to suppress the flames. The fire was fully brought under control by 5.18 pm.
Overhaul procedures were then carried out to ensure no residual fire hazards remained, with the operation concluding at 5.55 pm.
Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported in the incident. Police officers were also present to assist with managing the situation and ensuring public safety.
The case highlights the importance of rapid response and preparedness in handling vehicle fires, which can pose significant risks to nearby homes and residents.

Local observers noted that the swift containment of the fire prevented further escalation, underscoring the effectiveness of coordinated emergency response in Kota Samarahan.
