The official handover ceremony was officiated by Datuk Len Talif Salleh, Sarawak Deputy Minister of Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment, who is also the Kuala Rajang State Assemblyman. The event took place at the station on Friday.

The addition of the CFRT is expected to significantly improve preparedness levels, enabling faster response times and more effective service delivery to the community.

The machinery’s compact design makes it particularly suitable for deployment in rural villages and longhouses, where narrow and challenging routes often hinder larger vehicles.

Equipped with advanced firefighting systems, the CFRT also carries specialised rescue tools and breathing apparatus.

This allows firefighters to handle a wider range of emergencies, including hazardous chemical spills, thereby broadening the station’s operational scope.

Officials noted that the strategic placement of the CFRT in Tanjung Manis reflects the Fire and Rescue Department’s commitment to ensuring that rural and semi-urban communities receive the same level of protection as larger towns.

The machinery is expected to bolster confidence among residents and visitors, reinforcing the image of the fire service as a professional and reliable emergency response team.

Local community leaders welcomed the initiative, noting that improved firefighting capacity would not only protect residents but also support economic activities in the area.

With Tanjung Manis being a hub for fisheries and industrial development, enhanced emergency preparedness is seen as vital for sustaining growth and ensuring resilience.
