Jacksonville Rapper Julio Foolio Shot, Killed in Tampa ‘Ambush’: Attorney
TAMPA, Fla. – The music world was shaken early Sunday morning as Jacksonville rapper Julio Foolio, born Charles Jones, was shot and killed in what his attorney describes as an ambush in Tampa. The incident occurred while Jones was celebrating his 26th birthday, just days after the milestone.
According to Lewis Fusco, Jones’ attorney, the rapper was initially celebrating his birthday at an Airbnb. The move to the Holiday Inn, however, did not ensure safety. Fusco recounted that Jones was ambushed in the hotel parking lot. “The victim in this morning’s shooting is believed to be Charles Jones,” confirmed Tampa Police Public Information Officer Jonee’ Lewis in a press release. The Medical Examiner’s Office is yet to provide positive identification.
The shooting not only claimed the life of Julio Foolio but also resulted in injuries to three other individuals. These victims are currently receiving treatment at a local hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
