KUCHING, Dec 28 – A 29-year-old motorcyclist tragically lost his life in a hit-and-run accident early this morning at Mile 8, Jalan Matang. The incident has left authorities seeking public assistance to identify the driver who fled the scene.

Padawan District Police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi revealed that the accident happened around 3.15am, involving a Yamaha motorcycle and a Toyota Camry.

“The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled,” he said in a statement today.

The deceased’s identity has not been disclosed at this time. The police have launched a full investigation into the incident, urging witnesses or anyone with relevant information to step forward.

Police Seek Public Assistance

Authorities are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the accident or has knowledge of the driver’s whereabouts to assist in the investigation. Information can be directed to Investigation Officer Muhammad Azim from the Padawan Police Headquarters’ Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Division.
