The bus was part of an educational trip organized by Wat Khao Phraya School, located in the Uthai Thani province, approximately 250 km north of Bangkok. Six teachers were accompanying the students, though their final destination is still unclear.

Firefighters responded quickly to the scene, battling the flames, but the intensity of the fire claimed numerous lives. Sixteen students and three teachers were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving treatment for their injuries.

Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit stated that the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families, acknowledging the heavy loss of life.

As Thailand mourns this tragic event, efforts are being made to support the affected families and ensure that the investigation proceeds swiftly.
