LAWAS: Two large crocodiles were successfully captured by the Temburong District Fire and Rescue Team in Brunei after heavy rain caused water levels to rise, leading the reptiles to surface near residential areas.
Residents living along the riverbanks grew concerned after spotting the crocodiles approaching their homes. Fearing for their safety, they reported the sightings to the authorities. The Temburong Fire and Rescue Team swiftly responded to the complaints and managed to capture both crocodiles without incident.
A representative from the Temburong District Fire Station confirmed that the reptiles will be handed over to the Brunei Forestry Department for further action. Authorities have assured residents that the area is now safe.
Temburong District, where the incident occurred, is located between the Limbang and Lawas districts in Sarawak. The district plays a crucial geographical role, as land travel between Limbang and Lawas requires passing through Temburong in Brunei.
