A representative from the Temburong District Fire Station confirmed that the reptiles will be handed over to the Brunei Forestry Department for further action. Authorities have assured residents that the area is now safe.

Temburong District, where the incident occurred, is located between the Limbang and Lawas districts in Sarawak. The district plays a crucial geographical role, as land travel between Limbang and Lawas requires passing through Temburong in Brunei.

The recent increase in rainfall has caused river water levels to rise significantly, which is believed to have prompted the crocodiles to leave their usual habitats and venture closer to human settlements.

Residents have been advised to remain vigilant and report any similar incidents to the relevant authorities. Wildlife experts recommend avoiding riverside areas during periods of heavy rain to reduce the risk of encounters with wild animals, especially crocodiles.
