Two Men Arrested in Bau for Suspected Drug Abuse

BAU – Police in Bau arrested two men on 7 June in connection with suspected drug abuse during an operation at the Jalan Bau-Serikin intersection.

The arrests took place between 10.00 pm and 11.00 pm, involving officers from the Narcotic Crimes Investigation Division alongside senior personnel from the Bau District Police Headquarters.

The suspects, aged 27 and 50, were detained after initial urine screenings returned positive results for drugs.

Both individuals were taken into custody under provisions of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which allows for strict enforcement against drug-related offences.

Bau District Police Chief, Pisupt Mohd Haide bin A. Rahman, confirmed the arrests in a press statement, emphasising that the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) will continue to take firm action against any involvement in drug abuse.

He reiterated that such operations are part of ongoing efforts to curb narcotics activity in the district and safeguard public safety.
