The event, which was also attended by their daughter Puan Sharifah Nong-Jasima and a cousin, Encik Wan Mahdi bin Wan Mohba, saw rows of Jalur Gemilang and Sarawak flags installed across the compound.

Staff from the Astana were present to assist with the proceedings. Following the ceremonial planting, the Governor and his family spent time in their personal orchard, harvesting mangoes and enjoying the produce.
