Vietnamese Woman Dies After Falling From 12th Floor Apartment in Kuching
KUCHING, 17 May 2025 — A tragic incident unfolded last night when a Vietnamese woman was found dead after reportedly falling from the 12th floor of an apartment building at Jalan Daya, Kampung Bintawa, here.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call regarding the incident at approximately 8.21pm. According to a statement from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Operations Centre (PGO), a team from Tabuan Jaya Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) was immediately dispatched to the scene.
“A total of 11 personnel, along with a Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) vehicle, arrived at the location around 8.29pm,” said the department spokesperson.
Upon their arrival, the team discovered the woman — believed to be a foreign national — lying motionless on the first-floor landing after the fall from the 12th floor.
The rescue team then carefully moved the body to the ground level for further examination. Sadly, a medical officer from the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) confirmed that the victim had died on the spot due to the severe injuries sustained.
The victim’s body was handed over to the police for investigation. Authorities are now working to identify the cause of the fall and to contact the Vietnamese embassy for assistance in notifying the next of kin.
The operation concluded at around 9.25pm. The case is currently being investigated by the police, and members of the public with relevant information are urged to come forward.
