BINTULU – The Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah binti Mohd Sanusi, arrived safely at Bintulu Airport at 10.00 am today to begin their official visit to the Bintulu Division.

Their arrival was accompanied by Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department (Project Coordinator for Regional Development Agency, DBKU, and Islamic Affairs), YB Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Junaidi, and his wife, YBhg. Datin Siti Shorgayah binti Ahmad Zaidin.

They were warmly received by Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Department, YB Dato Sri John Sikie Tayai, Murum Assemblyman, YB Kennedy Chukpai Ugon, Bintulu Division Resident, YBhg. Datu Nyurak Keti, senior government officials, tribal leaders, and community leaders.
The arrival ceremony began with the recitation of a welcome prayer led by Bintulu Division Islamic Religious Officer, Ustaz Awang Fakrulizan bin Awang Madohi. The presence of community representatives and leaders reflected the unity and respect for the Head of State’s visit.

The highlight of this official visit will be the Opening Ceremony of the Bintulu Falak Centre, scheduled to take place later today. The centre is expected to serve as a hub for astronomical studies and activities, contributing to the scientific and educational development of the region.
In his remarks, Tun Pehin Sri, together with Toh Puan, expressed their prayers for the success of all planned programmes during the visit. They hoped that the events would run smoothly, achieve their objectives, and further strengthen ties between the state leadership and the people of Bintulu.
