KUCHING, Sept 29: A tragic accident along Jalan Serian-Balai Ringin claimed the life of a young boy, while two others sustained injuries in a single-vehicle crash this morning.

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) reported receiving an emergency call at 11.08am. A team from Bomba Serian was immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon their arrival, it was confirmed that the accident involved a sedan. An adult woman and a young girl were rescued by members of the public before the firefighters’ arrival. Firefighters worked to extract the third victim, a boy, who was trapped in the back seat by prying open the rear passenger door.

Sadly, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from the Ministry of Health. His body was handed over to the police for further investigation.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
