Kanye West’s Yeezy Brand Draws Criticism Over Offensive Merchandise

Kanye West’s Yeezy Brand Draws Criticism Over Offensive Merchandise

Controversial T-Shirt Listed for Sale
Kanye West is making headlines again, but not for his music or fashion innovation. His Yeezy brand’s website was reportedly selling just one item over the weekend—a $20 T-shirt featuring a swastika. The listing came after West’s troubling days-long rant on X (formerly known as Twitter), where he praised Hitler, made antisemitic statements, and declared, “I’M A NAZI.”

This shocking development happened despite West’s earlier post on X where he claimed, “I would never sell a swastika tee because people could be physically harmed wearing it.” Yet, the offensive shirt remained on sale until Monday morning.

Super Bowl Ad Adds to the Chaos
Adding fuel to the controversy, West reportedly aired a Super Bowl ad in Los Angeles, directing viewers to yeezy.com. While the ad didn’t explicitly mention the T-shirt, it drove traffic to the website, where the offensive item was the only thing listed for sale.

Account Vanishes After Antisemitic Rants
By Monday, West’s X account had vanished. His page, once filled with dozens of inflammatory posts, now reads, “This account doesn’t exist.” Before going dark, West lashed out at Taylor Swift, accusing her of malicious intent after she sang along to Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl halftime performance. He posted:
“WHY ARE WE LETTING TAYLOR SWIFT BE SEEN ON TV SINGING A SONG ABOUT TAKING A BLACK MAN DOWN?”

Past Partnerships Lost Over Hate Speech
This isn’t the first time West has faced backlash. His antisemitic comments previously cost him major deals with Adidas, Balenciaga, Gap, and Foot Locker. Even Hollywood cut ties, with agencies and law firms distancing themselves from the rapper. StopAntisemitism, a watchdog group, named him “Antisemite of the Year” in response to his ongoing hate speech.

Misogynistic Remarks and Bizarre Stunts
Amid his rants, West also stirred controversy at the Grammys by walking the red carpet with his wife, Bianca Censori, who wore a completely sheer dress. While many debated whether the outfit was an artistic statement or coercion, West asserted, “I HAVE DOMINION OVER MY WIFE,” though he later clarified that the decision was hers but “wouldn’t have happened without my approval.”
