“Responding quickly to the emergency, our head of operations, Senior Fire Officer (PBK I) Bakar Ujang, led a team of firefighters to the scene,” Mahmudin said when contacted today.

Upon arrival, the team confirmed the presence of a bush fire that was rapidly spreading in the dry vegetation near the roadside.

The firefighting team took prompt action using a single hose reel stream and water from the fire engine’s tank. Thanks to their efficient coordination and readiness, the fire was fully put out in approximately three minutes, preventing it from spreading to nearby structures or forested areas.

“The entire operation was completed by 3.14 pm, and no injuries or property damage were reported,” Mahmudin added.

This incident highlights the importance of rapid response and preparedness by our local fire departments. It also serves as a reminder for the public to avoid open burning, especially during the current dry weather conditions which increase the risk of such fires.

Authorities advise residents to stay alert and report any signs of fire immediately to avoid further incidents.
