MBKS Hosts Ping Pong Championship to Promote Healthy Living Among Civil Servants

KUCHING – The Kuching South City Council (MBKS) recently hosted the Ping Pong Championship under the Kejohanan MAKSAK Sarawak Games, aimed at encouraging healthy lifestyles and team spirit among public servants.

The event was officially launched by Deputy Sarawak Secretary, Datu Hii Chang Kee, who represented the Sarawak State Secretary Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.

MBKS Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, MAKSAK Sarawak Honorary Secretary Semawi Mohamad, and MBKS City Secretary Ita Ling were also present at the event.

This championship is part of MAKSAK Sarawak’s ongoing initiatives to foster unity, fitness and camaraderie through recreational sports.

“It’s more than just competition. Events like this help civil servants maintain both physical health and mental resilience, which in turn enhances productivity and public service delivery,” said Datu Hii in his opening speech.

The initiative also highlights MBKS’s dedication to civil servant welfare, aligning with its mission of “Berkhidmat untuk Masyarakat” (Serving the Community).
