“Upon arrival, our team discovered that the fire had affected the kitchen wall of a vacant house. Fortunately, the flames were quickly brought under control before they could spread further,” he said in a statement issued today.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the fire likely originated from open burning activities conducted nearby. “Public feedback indicated that the house had been abandoned for quite some time, and no occupants were present when the incident occurred,” Ramlan added.

He commended the swift response of the firefighters, which successfully prevented a larger disaster. “Thanks to the quick action taken, only minimal damage was reported and no injuries occurred,” he confirmed.

The fire department has reminded the public against irresponsible open burning, especially during dry periods, as such activities can easily escalate into dangerous fire incidents threatening lives and property.

This case adds to the increasing number of fire incidents linked to open burning across the state, prompting calls for stronger community awareness and enforcement.
