Beirut / Caracas — Hezbollah has strongly denounced the latest U.S. actions targeting Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro’s government—asserting that Washington’s measures are aimed at destabilizing a sovereign state committed to its principles.

According to a statement released on the Hezbollah-affiliated broadcaster Al-Manara, the group condemned the “flagrant” intervention, framing the U.S. decision as not a defence of democracy, but rather a means of exerting control over Venezuela’s resources and punishing nations that diverge from U.S. policies.
Hezbollah reaffirmed its “steadfast support” for the Maduro administration and rejected American recognition of opposition leaders as illegitimate.
The accusation echoes longstanding criticisms from Caracas, which denounces U.S. sanctions and political manoeuvres as infringing on Venezuela’s sovereignty—a narrative heavily emphasized by both governments.

The statement also reflects deeper geopolitical alliances: Venezuela’s ties with Iran and Hezbollah extend beyond political solidarity, reaching into shared resistance against what they perceive as U.S. hegemony.
Amidst this, the U.S. has escalated its pressure on Maduro, including increasing the reward on his capture to $50 million and imposing additional sanctions on his inner circle.
