48 Students Honoured with Incentives at Sarawak Education Expo 2025

BINTULU – A total of 48 students who excelled in the 2024 SPM and STPM examinations were recognised at the Sarawak Education Expo 2025 through special incentives awarded by the Sarawak Foundation.

The awards were presented during the launching ceremony at Times Square Megamall, attended by Tanjong Batu State Assemblyman Johnny Pang Leong Ming, Bintulu District Education Officer Samri Suhaili, Sarawak Foundation representative Lee Chung Chin, and Bintulu District Officer Representative Suzanna Indiat.

In his address, Johnny Pang emphasised that education is the most valuable investment for Sarawak’s future. He highlighted the state government’s ongoing efforts to expand the Sarawak Education Fund, develop state higher education institutions such as University of Technology Sarawak, Swinburne Sarawak, Curtin University Malaysia, and CENTEXS, and strengthen Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs and digital education initiatives.

“Discipline, manners, and identity are key to success. Students must seize the opportunities available, not only by achieving excellent results but also by developing values and skills that benefit society and the nation,” he said.

The expo, organised by the Sarawak Foundation in collaboration with the Aminuddin Baki Institute Sarawak Branch and the Bintulu District Education Office, featured over 20 government and private agencies. These agencies provided students and parents with comprehensive information on educational pathways, career options, and study opportunities.
