Balingian Zone Emerges Champion at Mukah PSKPP Festival 2025

BALINGIAN – The Balingian Zone was crowned overall champion of the Mukah District Level Education Services Sports and Culture Association (PSKPP) Festival 2025, which concluded at the Balingian Community Hall today.

The closing ceremony was officiated by Balingian Assemblyman Abdul Yakub Haji Arbi, who highlighted that PSKPP is more than just a recreational event, but also a platform to nurture citizens who are well-balanced in physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual aspects.

“Sports instil discipline and healthy competition, while cultural activities strengthen national identity. Together, they shape excellent educators who can inspire and serve as role models for the younger generation,” he said.

Abdul Yakub also reaffirmed the support of the Balingian DUN Community Service Centre for initiatives that bring educators together while easing work-related pressures through sports and cultural engagements.

Meanwhile, Balingian Zone Management Committee (JKP) Chairman Rizalfaiza Merikan expressed his gratitude to all who contributed to the festival’s success, despite challenges such as limited funds. He revealed that the organising committee worked with a budget of only RM2,700, while the cost of renting the Balingian Stadium reached RM600 per day.

He added that the RM5,000 allocation received from the ADUN Service Centre last Ramadan had greatly supported the team’s participation in the tournament.

In the overall results, the Mukah City Zone emerged as runner-up, followed by the Seberang Zone in third place, and the Ladang Zone in fourth.
