PTA Urged to Play Strategic Role in Education Development

SARATOK – Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) have been urged to take on a more strategic role in providing students with a safe and conducive learning environment.

Krian State Assemblyman (ADUN) Friday Belik said PTAs should leverage platforms such as the Saratok District-Level Sarawak Education Expo to identify new initiatives that can improve school facilities, management, and student character development.

“I believe that through such meetings, PTA members are prepared to play a strategic role in ensuring every student has access to a conducive and safe learning environment. Parents and community leaders must also play an active role as motivators, guides and liaisons,” he said.

He made the remarks while officiating at the Closing Ceremony of the Saratok District-Level Sarawak Education Expo at Sri Krian Hall on Saturday.

Friday also called on PTAs to maintain cooperation, openness, and collective action with relevant stakeholders to advance education and student success.

During the event, he presented scholarships worth RM72,000 from the Sarawak Foundation to 90 students, alongside RM207,000 in school uniform aid benefiting 1,032 students.
