The three-day event, organised by the Sarawak Housing and Real Estate Developers’ Association (SHEDA), not only serves as a platform for property exhibition but also reflects the state’s progress in adopting innovation and sustainability in housing.

Officiating the event, Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, in a speech delivered by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Prof. Dr. Sim Kui Hian, stressed that home ownership remains a key driver of Sarawak’s economic transformation.

He noted that lifestyle changes such as the rise of mini-homes, transit-oriented developments, vertical gardens, and shared community spaces are shaping the aspirations of the younger generation. He urged Sarawakians to embrace change with determination and work together to build not just properties, but a sustainable future.

In line with the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030, the Premier reaffirmed Sarawak’s plan to deliver 20,000 affordable housing units between 2026 and 2030. These developments, he said, will utilise modern construction technologies such as the Industrialized Building System (IBS) and Building Information Modeling (BIM) to improve quality, efficiency and long-term sustainability.

The expo also marked the official launch of the new SHEDA Institute logo, alongside SHEDA:ENCORE, a collaborative platform designed to encourage knowledge sharing and foster partnerships among property industry players.

Featuring 52 exhibition booths, the expo includes talks on financial planning, property market trends, and home feng shui, drawing the interest of homebuyers, investors and industry professionals.
