Raja Muda Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Weds Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini in Grand Royal Ceremony

Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Witness Royal Wedding of Raja Muda Selangor

KLANG – The Sultan of Selangor, DYMM Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, and DYMM Tengku Permaisuri Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Hajah Norashikin, today graced the royal wedding of DYTM Raja Muda Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, with YM Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini Binti Dato’ Abdul Aziz at Istana Alam Shah, Klang.

The akad nikah ceremony was held earlier at the Istana Diraja Mosque within the palace grounds and was officiated by the Sahibus Samahah Mufti of Selangor, YAD Dato’ Setia Dr. Haji Anhar Opir. The solemnisation took place at exactly 10.08 am with a single declaration, followed by 11 ceremonial cannon shots to mark the historic occasion.

The marriage was witnessed by YAM Tengku Panglima Raja Selangor, Tengku Ahmad Shah Alhaj, together with YAD Tengku Indera Pahlawan Diraja, Tengku Dato’ Setia Putra Alhaj. The wedding, conducted in full adherence to Malay royal tradition, was attended by members of the Selangor Royal Family, the family of the royal bride, as well as invited relatives and close friends.

After the ceremony, Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin joined the newlyweds for a souvenir photograph, capturing the moment of joy and continuity for the Selangor royal household.

In a media statement issued later, His Majesty Sultan Sharafuddin announced that Ms. Afzaa Fadini had been conferred the First Class Order of the Crown of Selangor (S.P.M.S.), which carries the title Datin Paduka Seri. The conferment followed her marriage to the Raja Muda Selangor and officially recognises her status as consort to His Royal Highness Tengku Amir Shah.

The statement, signed by Dato’ Haji Mohamad Munir Bin Bani, underscored the royal blessings for the couple, ending with the words: “ALLAH bless and protect the royal bride couple.”

The union of Tengku Amir Shah and Datin Paduka Seri Afzaa Fadini is not only a significant personal milestone for the Raja Muda of Selangor but also a moment of pride for the state, celebrated with dignity, order and adherence to royal customs. – Selangor Royal Office
