PM Anwar Urges Voters to Choose Integrity, Highlights Sabah Projects

KOTA KINABALU – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on the people of Sabah to exercise their democratic rights wisely, stressing that the future of both the state and Malaysia depends on the integrity of leaders chosen by the electorate.

Delivering his keynote address at the Petagas State Assembly, Anwar reminded voters of their responsibility to select leaders who genuinely serve the people.

He emphasised that progress is built upon the wisdom of the electorate, and when choices are made with clarity and sincerity, Malaysia can continue to move forward under strong and principled leadership.

“The power to choose leaders is in the hands of the people and it should be used wisely for the future of Sabah and Malaysia that we love,” Anwar said, urging voters to prioritise integrity and accountability.

The Prime Minister pointed to several major projects currently underway in Sabah as evidence of the government’s commitment to tangible development.

These include the upgrading of Tawau Hospital, the repair of Lahad Datu Prison, the construction of a container port in Sepanggar Bay, and the proposed cardiac medical centre in Kota Kinabalu.

He noted that these initiatives reflect the government’s determination to address long-standing needs and improve essential services for Sabahans.

Anwar reiterated that the MADANI Government will continue to work tirelessly, as the trust of the people requires ongoing effort.

He stressed that development in Sabah must not stall, welfare must be safeguarded, and the voices of the people must remain central to policymaking.

Observers view the Prime Minister’s remarks as both a reminder of the importance of democratic participation and a reaffirmation of the Federal Government’s commitment to Sabah’s growth.

With the 17th Sabah State Election approaching, his message carries particular weight, highlighting the link between responsible leadership and sustained development.
