NAIROBI – Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has concluded his official visit to Nairobi, describing the mission as a success in strengthening Malaysia–Kenya relations and opening new avenues for cooperation across strategic sectors.
The short but impactful MADANI Diplomacy mission saw Malaysia and Kenya reaffirm their commitment to deepen collaboration in trade, investment, education, technology, and sustainable development.
The visit also highlighted Malaysia’s readiness to support Kenya’s aspirations as a regional hub in East Africa, particularly in digital innovation, renewable energy, and human capital development.
Prime Minister Anwar expressed gratitude to President Dr William Samoei Ruto and the Government of Kenya for their warm hospitality throughout the visit.
He noted that the engagements held in Nairobi had achieved their intended goals, paving the way for stronger bilateral ties and people-to-people connections.
Acknowledgement was also extended to the Malaysian High Commission in Nairobi, ministries and agencies involved, as well as security personnel and media representatives who ensured the smooth execution of the programme. Their contributions were recognised as vital to the success of the mission.
The Prime Minister emphasised that the outcomes of the visit reflect Malaysia’s broader diplomatic approach, which integrates economic, cultural, and humanitarian values into international partnerships.
He reiterated that Malaysia will continue to expand cooperation with Kenya in line with the spirit of friendship that has defined relations between the two nations for six decades.
As the delegation departed Nairobi for Kuala Lumpur, Anwar expressed confidence that the agreements and discussions held during the mission will deliver tangible benefits to citizens of both countries. He concluded with a message of appreciation: “Asante, Nairobi.”
